After pulling the engine, we soon found that it had spun a bearing. Although we talked about a 350, that didn't seem like too wise of a choice at the time, with me being a young kid and gas prices on the rise. My dad had mentioned a small block Chevy 307 that he had given to my cousin to put in his 1970 Firebird many years before. The engine was originally in my dad's 1969 Impala, so I thought it was kind of neat how it was passed along. I freshened up the engine with new gaskets, oil pump, fuel pump, Edelbrock Performer Intake and the redone heads from the blown 305. I also added a Holley four barrel carburetor. The exhaust is run through Hooker Headers and a Dynomax Cat-back. Also included in the engine bay is a chrome high-amp alternator that my dad custom-built for me. He has his own alternator, starter, and generator shop and has been rebuilding for 37 years. Check out his web site, Miller's Generator Service.

I still plan on repainting the engine bay and doing some major clean-up. I might wait until the new engine is ready, but I do tend to get impatient.
