Sukuki SV650 PDF Print E-mail

Shortly after my dad got his BMW we started talking about finding a new motorcycle with me. Although the 250's served their purpose, it was time for a new bike- so I could keep up with dad's bimmer. We went to a BMW dealership and started looking at some of the motorcycles. I wasn't really excited about what I was seeing. Don't get me wrong, BMW makes a great motorcycle, but as a kid, I wanted something with a sportier appearance and feel. We even looked at a few of the sport bikes BMW had to offer. It wasn't until we were getting ready to leave that the dealer asked us to check out one last bike, a Suzuki SV650. I had always heard good things about the SV's but had never even considered one. The bike the dealer had was a 2004 with 0 miles. It was yellow and I instantly felt right about it. We left that day in search of other SV's, hoping to find a used one or just another yellow one. About a week later, we had found close to nothing. We found a few used ones, but no yellow bikes. Even the used ones we had found were going for more than the one we had looked at. We decided that we couldn't really go wrong by getting it. A few days later the bike was sitting in the garage. I've only gotten to ride it one time, in about 45 degree weather. It's still in the break in period but all I can say is, what a fun bike! It's quick enough to put a big grin on your face yet light enough that you control it, not the other way around.

Since having the SV I have added a tank bra, carbon fiber key guard, and eliminated the stock fender. The bike also has a set of MotoSliders frame sliders. My dad bought me a brand new lower cowl off of Ebay that I plan on putting on soon. I also plan on adding a solo seat cover and Holeshot exhaust sometime down the line.

Ready for the first ride!

New mirrors with the seat cowl. I also picked up a Powerstand. Awesome stand!
